You are invited to attend the CPD presentation “Does SANS = Sustainability” by Lisa Reynolds.
Lisa Reynolds is an Executive Director of Green BDG. Lisa serves on the Working Groups and committees for standards for Energy Efficiency in Buildings. She is Chair of TC 301 (Energy Management). Lisa has a BSc, an MBA and CEM. Lisa's awards include 2007 ETA award (Eskom) for Women, 2008 Individual Energy (SAEE), 2012 SABS Standards Writer Award; the 2014 Women in Energy (SAWIEN); and the 2016 Hall of Fame award. She served on Technical Working Groups for the Green Building Council of SA. Lisa is the President of the SAEE Confederation (SA Association of Energy Efficiency) and was a board member of the Green Building Council.
The presentation will cover the following:
- Government imperatives and commitments to sustainability and how it impacts the building industry.
- The proposed changes on SANS 10400-XA and the impact on building construction.
- The Green Building Council latest tools, successes and future plans. The estimated extra cost of Green Buildings and their savings.
- Other activities in Sustainable Building space - new and proposed standards, government and city's initiatives.
- How can these be leveraged to persuade the market?
- Conclusion - greenwash and making meaningful changes.
